유숙형, Sook-hyeung Yoo
유숙형은 현실과 가상 현실에서 중첩되는 경험들을 토대로 주변에서 만날 수 있는 확장된 장면들에 관심을 가진다. 그 중에서도 두 세계 속 필연적인 역할이나 해야하는 일들을 유보하려는 의도를 가진 비주류적 행위성에 관심을 두고 회화를 통해 작업을 이어 오고 있다.
현실 속에서 이행해야하는 일과 그 과업에서 발생하는 부담감, 무기력감과 동시에 가능성이라는 희망의 양가감정을 느끼며 인간이 인간으로 살아가는 것을 유지하기 위해 도움이 된다고 여겨지는 행위들의 장면을 현실과 가상 현실에서 수집하고, 그곳에서 스스로의 질서와 대안을 찾아내기 위해 그림을 그리고 있다.
주요 전시로는 이인전 《어그로-스왑》(2024, CDA ZERO), 단체전 《EVERLEVER ART PROJECT》(2023, 오뉴월 이주헌) 등이 있다.
Yoo Sook-hyeung is interested in expanded scenes that overlap between reality and virtual reality, particularly those found in everyday surroundings.
Her focus lies on non-mainstream agency, which involves a deliberate deferral of inevitable roles or tasks required in both worlds. Through painting, she explores this theme by collecting scenes from both realities, capturing actions believed to help maintain humanity.
This process is imbued with ambivalence—balancing the hope of possibility against the burden and lethargy stemming from real-world obligations. Through these collected scenes, she searches for personal order and alternatives.
Notable exhibitions include the duo exhibition 《Agro-Swap》 (2024, CDA ZERO) and the group exhibition 《EVERLEVER ART PROJECT》 (2023, O’NewWall Eujuheon).
