권수민은 유화를 주요 매체로 사용하여 회화 작업을 통해 자연 속에서의 시간의 흐름과 변화를 탐구하고 있다. 작업은 풍경과 사물의 소멸, 그리고 시간이 갈수록 흔적을 잃어가는 순간들을 회화적으로 포착하려는 시도이다. 특히 노을처럼 항상 곁에 있지만 금새 사라져버리는 순간의 아름다움과 그 깊은 의미에 집중하고자 한다.
작업들은 직접 촬영한 사진을 출발점으로 삼아 시각적으로 재해석하여 작업한다. 단순한 사실적 재현에 그치지 않고, 오히려 사진을 변형하여 실재의 경계를 모호하게 작업하고 있다.
작업들은 자연 속에서의 변화와 시간의 흐름을 통해 인간의 존재와 삶의 의미를 내포하고 있으며, 유기적인 형태의 결합을 통해 공간적 경험을 확장시키는 작업을 진행하고 있다.
Kwon sumin’s work uses oil painting as the main medium to explore the passage and change of time in nature through painting. The work attempts to pictorially capture moments that lose their traces over time through landscapes and objects. The works start from photographs taken by the artist, which are then visually reinterpreted. Rather than merely replicating reality, the photos are transformed to blur the boundaries of the actual world.
The works contain the meaning of human existence and life through the changes and flow of time in nature. The artist is expanding spatial experiences by combining organic forms.
